About the Author

Cassandra Marketos is a Los Angeles–based compost artist, writer, and educator whose work explores decay as both process and metaphor. She co-manages a community compost in Echo Park, consults on compost systems for clients from home gardeners to small farms, and teaches composting to all ages. Her writing has been published by Dwell Magazine and Apogee Graphics, and her artwork has been featured in collaboration with a wide network of artists and institutions.
