Maria Mercedes Trujillo Arango

About the Author

Maria Mercedes Trujillo Arango is a late-blooming, self-taught artist from Bogotá, Colombia, who now calls New Zealand home. She attended medical school and is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist. In 2009, she decided to make art full-time. She likes to sketch, draw, paint and embroider. Most of her projects are born from working in her sketchbooks. Maria finds making art to be a meditative act from start to finish, as well as being a healing process. Nature is her main source of inspiration.
