Mark Turner has more than 30 years of experience photographing garden and native plants for books and magazines. He brings the eye of an artist together with the mind of a botanist to create clear, high-content photographs that enable viewers to learn about and understand the characteristics of the plants he photographs. Mark is a board member of the Washington Native Plant Society and maintains the Pacific Northwest Wildflowers website. He is also a well-regarded speaker on the garden club and native plant circuit and gives workshops on both plants and photography.

Ellen Kuhlmann is a professional botanist with extensive experience with Northwest flora. She has a background in fire ecology, rare plant research, and plant community ecology. She worked for the U.S. Forest Service for many years, and for six years was the project manager for Seeds of Success, Washington Rare Plant Care and Conservation (Rare Care), a program sponsored by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Ellen lives in Bellingham, WA.
