Laurie Lyons-Makaimoku relocated to the Island of Hawai’i from Austin in 2016, looking for a temporary change of pace. After falling in love with the Island (and one of its inhabitants), she permanently relocated to the verdant rainforests of east Hawai‘i as part of a new ‘ohana. Since then, she’s spent time developing an appreciation for Hawai‘i’s places, people, and melting pot of cultures, focusing her writing on travel and lifestyle content that highlights all of the special things about the Hawaiian islands.
