Featured here is an eclectic collection of more than 100 of photographer Evan Schiller’s most loved courses—a healthy mix of public and private, parklands and links, historic courses and hidden gems. There’s Haig Point on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina, accessible only by private ferry. Bandon Dunes, which play like a true Scottish links, picked up and moved to the desolate coast of southwestern Oregon. Puntacana Resort & Club, on the eastern-most tip of the Dominican Republic, known for its miles of white sand beaches—and forty-five holes of exceptional golf. There are iconic courses like Pebble Beach and Royal County Down, photographed like you’ve never seen them before, and sneak peeks at ultra-private clubs so exclusive that few golfers will ever be lucky enough to set foot on their greens. 

Each is punctuated with behind-the-stories of Evan playing and photographing the courses alongside some of the great architects, developers, and agronomists of this generation: A cup of very precisely made Irish coffee followed by an early morning helicopter ride with John O’Connor, co-owner of Old Head in County Cork. Finding architect Gil Hanse behind the controls of a bulldozer on the 15th hole at Quaker Ridge the day he uncovered and returned a deception bunker to its original A. W. Tillinghast design. A lively round of golf with architect Tom Doak on his ingenious reversible layout, The Loop.
